What is Perlane®?
Perlane® is a smooth consistency injectable, cosmetic dermal filler that can be used to treat a variety of problem areas such as wrinkles, facial folds, and facial scarring. Perlane® consists of a non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid gel, free from animal protein, and therefore, does not pose any risk of allergies. It is a great option for clients seeking to refresh and renew volume and to improve the contour of the face, quickly and easily. Results are long-lasting and the effect is completely natural.
How does Perlane® work?
Perlane® is a dermal filler that is injected into the skin, using an ultra-fine needle, to restore volume and fullness by plumping the skin. The hyaluronic acid contained within Perlane® renews the body's natural supply, which is depleted with age and time. The boost of hyaluronic acid lifts the tissues and allows you to recapture the natural fullness that has been lost over time.
Is Perlane® safe?
Perlane® is made from non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid gel and, contains no animal products. It is both bio-degradable and bio-compatible and is developed on naturally occurring substances. As a result, there is little or no risk of allergic reaction. And because it is, bio-degradable, it is easily broken down by the body and leaves no harmful chemicals or toxins in your system.
How long does the treatment take?
The length of the treatment depends on how many sites you would like to have treated and how many applications of Perlane® are required for optimum results. In general, treatments are quick and easy, ranging from 30 minutes to an hour and can be easily scheduled between other appointments or on your lunch hour. No recovery time is necessary and you can return to your daily activities immediately.
Are there any side effects?
Studies of Perlane® have shown that side effects are rare. As with any treatment of this type, the most common side effects are temporary redness, swelling, itching or tenderness at the injection site. These side effects are generally resolved within a few days but may last up to a week.
How long do results last?
Perlane® is biodegradable so the results are not permanent. However, the benefits of Perlane® have been shown to be very long-lasting due to the high concentration of hyaluronic acid found in the product. Results will vary from client-to-client but most will enjoy the benefits of treatment from six months to a full year. Occasional maintenance treatments may help to maintain optimal results of Perlane® more effectively.
