Gravity is not our friend. Until now, our option to counter the effect of gravity has been surgery. That has changed with the arrival of Ultherapy. Beauty editors of Vogue, Elle, Bazaar and more, have commented that Ulthera is the latest technology that delivers rejuvenation, nonsurgically.
Dr. Stanley Jones, Medical Director for Persona, reviewed the Ulthera studies and was impressed with the sophistication of the technology as well as patient results. When he decided to undergo a treatment himself, he admitted that he anticipated a considerable amount of discomfort. He was "pleasantly surprised" at how comfortable he was during the treatment. "This is by far the best technology for tightening and lifting sagging skin."
Dr. Jones has observed the changes following his Ultherapy treatment. "My jawline is much more defined and the skin under the chin and neck is much tighter." "After just two months, my patients began commenting on how good I look! I LOVE IT!" "At Persona, we believe in experiencing each treatment, after much research, to ensure optimal results for our clients."

What exactly is Ultherapy?
It is a revolutionary new nonsurgical procedure that uses ultrasound to lift as well as tone loose skin without any downtime. It is not a laser and is safe on all skin types because it penetrates and by passes the top layer of the skin, lifting and tightening from the inside out. Ultrasound energy focuses sound waves below the skin and stimulates the tissue to tighten and contract. It is truly a lunchtime lift. You can return to work after the procedure, or plan to go out to dinner the same night. While there may be an immediate improvement, most of the lifting and tightening occurs gradually as the treated area heals itself, resulting in a natural appearance.
How does Ultherapy work?
Ultherapy works by delivering ultra sound energy focused at a specific depth to gently heat the tissue. This stimulates the renewal of existing collagen and creation of new collagen. Collagen is a natural protein that provides structural support to the skin, giving the skin that toned, firm appearance. As we age, collagen decreases in quantity and strength, leading to sagging and wrinkling. Ultherapy restores a more youthful balance by stimulating new collagen production. Some tightening occurs immediately after treatment, but the long term results and the majority of tightening and lifting of the skin occurs after 2-3 months. Collagen renewal continues and further improvements can be seen even after 6 months.
Why is Ultherapy different?
Ultherapy targets the deep foundation below the skin without disrupting the skin surface unlike surgery or lasers. The procedure uses ultrasound imaging which allows the Practitioner to see the layers of the tissue and muscle that is being treated. This ensures precise delivery of energy where it is most needed.
Is Ultherapy safe?
Ultherapy has been cleared by the FDA after demonstrating safety in clinical studies. Tens of thousands treatments have been performed worldwide without any significant adverse events.
Who is a good candidate for Ultherapy?
Good candidates for Ultherapy are men and women with good skin quality and mild to moderate laxity. Typically, people who notice areas of mid-lower face, neck, brows and eyelid sagging are good candidates.
Ultherapy is not a facelift but an aesthetic lift of the facial skin and neck. It can lift and tighten the skin leading to a refreshed appearance. It is ideal for someone who does not want surgery.
How long does it take?
The procedure takes about 60-70 minutes depending on the areas treated.
Does it hurt?
There is some discomfort during the procedure. However, our clients have all been surprised at the comfort level they did experience during the treatment. The slight discomfort experienced is temporary and ends when the treatment is over.
How many treatments are needed?
One treatment is recommended for mild to moderate skin laxity. Patients with extensive laxity may benefit from more than one treatment.
What are the risks of Ultherapy?
The skin may appear slightly red, following the treatment, and disappears within a few hours. Makeup can be reapplied immediately afterward if desired. Some people experience slight swelling for a few days following the procedure or tingling/tenderness to the touch for a few days to weeks, which are mild and temporary. There is the possibility of other less common effects, such as small areas of bruising or numbness.
