Deep Tissue Massage

Persona’s Deep Tissue Massage is similar in technique to a Swedish Massage, but offers deeper pressure, which is helpful in releasing chronic muscle tension in the body.

Sports Therapy Massage

Persona’s Sports Therapy massage addresses muscle tension relevant to athletes and to those who engage in regular exercise routines. Sports Massage uses a variety of techniques taken from Swedish Massage, trigger point therapy and stretching as needed to decrease muscle tension and aid in injury healing.

Your Sports Massage treatment is performed by one of Persona’s licensed and experienced massage therapists and can be instrumental in relieving pain, preventing stiffness, and returning muscles to their normal, relaxed state. Reflexology

Reflexology is a therapeutic method of pain relief, performed by stimulating predefined pressure points on the feet and hands. Controlled pressure used on the correct body points helps to alleviate many sources of discomfort and is often considered quite effective for promoting wellness and preventing illness. Reflexology is known to promote healing by stimulating nerves and assisting with the flow of blood. Applied correctly, it can often alleviate allergy symptoms, stress, back pain, and even chronic fatigue.

Oncology Therapeutic Massage

Oncology massage utilizes existing massage therapy techniques to safely work with the complications of cancer and its treatments. This type of massage is best performed by a therapist who has an informed understanding of the disease, knows the side effects of cancer treatments such as medications, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation and has the ability to modify techniques in order to account for these side effects, as well as for the cancer itself.

Orthopedic Rehabilitation Massage involves the assessment, manipulation and movement of the body’s soft tissues in order to resolve pain and dysfunction. Its focus is to restore normal function and balance throughout the body for both the prevention and rehabilitation of the body’s imbalances. The focus during this massage is to identify problems within the client’s musculoskeletal system and integrate diverse techniques to release tense muscles, stretch compromised tendons and decompress joints. Common orthopedic conditions can be a result of sports injuries, postural imbalances, chronic pain and scar tissue. Orthopedic Rehabilitation Massage can be used to address many issues such as sciatica, rotator cuff injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis and back pain just to name a few.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone massage is a natural therapy by which warm stones are positioned on specific areas of the body to elicit a therapeutic benefit. The stones used are typically river rocks or other types of smooth surface stones made of basalt. These stones are heated in sanitizing water before use. The high iron content in basalt helps the stones retain heat during the massage. Stone massage is beneficial both physically and psychologically.
